194AU Carbide Krause Flame

Particularly durable in the processing of challenging materials

A popular rotating instrument for goldsmiths is the steel bur figure 194 – also known as the “Krause Flame”. With its delicate and pointed flame shape and intricate working part diameters of 1.0 and 1.2 mm, it is ideal for various types of finest goldsmith’s work.

The new carbide version of the Krause Flame with the figure designation 194AU is now available in the familiar working part diameters. In addition to the designation “AU” in the figure name, the existing gold shank ring also indicates that it belongs to the special HighTech-TOOL series.
Especially demanding materials such as white gold, platinum, titanium, and jewellery steel can be processed flawlessly. The carbide properties of the HighTech-TOOLS allow a significant longer service life of these tools.

In addition, the cutting design of the new Figure 194AU has been optimised so that it delivers superior work results, especially with regard to the penetration and removal behaviour on the aforementioned materials.

PavéCut 447AU

Create pavé settings 50% faster

With the introduction of its innovative PavéCut (pat. pending DE 10 2019 200 495.4), we are expanding our HighTech-TOOLS series by adding another special tool, which can be recognised by the gold marking on its shaft.
As the name implies, the brand-new PavéCut is used for cutting pavé settings. Its special feature is the combination of twist drill and round bur in a single tool. The PavéCut consolidates two work steps into one: predrilling with a twist drill and shaping and enlargement with a round bur. This saves time, increases precision and optimises the result.

Just like the other tools from the HighTech series already on the market, the PavéCut Fig. 447AU is made of hot isostatically compressed finest-grain carbide. Enjoy the benefits of a long service life and impressive cutting performance.  Very hard jewellery materials pose no hindrance.

PavéCut 447 Steel Version

The proven carbide PavéCut 447AU (patent pending) is now also available as a steel version.

Of course, the advantages of the well-known PavéCut apply to the steel version as well. The unique combination of a round bur and a twist drill combines two work steps into one. All you need is one tool for pre-drilling, shaping, and enlarging, which will save you 50% of your valuable and precious time!

The steel version scores high with a gentle milling feel. Especially softer precious metals such as silver and yellow gold can be processed easily, precisely and an outstanding very time-saving way.

Stone Setting Bur 413AU

Stone setting burs create the perfect fit

Creating a precise stone setting is easy with the new carbide stone setting bur. After pre-drilling, the bur creates the perfect fit for the pavilion of a faceted gemstone and ensures that it is held securely in place in flush and bezel settings, for example. To make sure that the right bur is always available for standard stone diameters, the stone setting bur 413AU is available in diameters from 0.8 mm to 3.0 mm, in one-tenth increments.

The carbide tool features a gold ring on the shank which identifies it as part of the established BUSCH HighTech-TOOLS series of finest-grain carbides.

As with the other HighTech-TOOLS, the 413AU particularly demonstrates its strength on hard materials, such as platinum, titanium, white gold and jeweler steel.

Like all HighTech-TOOLS, the carbide stone setting bur excels with its long service life and extremely high cutting capacity.

2K-AU

Especially when setting angular gemstones such as princess cut diamonds, the edges of the gemstones themselves and the edges of the settings are critical areas.
In order to avoid any damage to the delicate edges of the gemstones when fitting them into the bezel settings, it makes sense to optimise the edges of the setting to the geometry of the stones.

The figure 2K-AU with its non-serrated front-side offers an optimal solution. It prevents unintended milling contacts on the polished edges when working in axial direction.

Furthermore, the 2K-AU can also be used, to cut out or separate the individual prongs during the setting and to remove the bars between neighbouring gemstones.

As part of our AU series, the 2K-AU is made of finest-grain tungsten carbide allowing the setters to also work in a wide range of hard materials such as white-gold, platinum, titanium and jewellery steel:

Small enough?

Our HighTech-Tool range has grown. We have complemented the known figures 1AU, 38AU, 414AU und 446AU of the AU series by the 1Z-AU tool in the ISO sizes 002, 003, 004.

The round cut design with front running blade allows axial penetration of the material. The short, cylindrical part of the tool behind the rounded front can be used additionally in radial direction. The clear view of the workpiece due to its slender neck proves to be a further advantage, especially for finest workmanship, such as are carried out with the smallest size (ISO size 002).

Its filigree working parts can be used, for example, to rework stone settings and to break off edges purposefully. The durable HighTech-Tools made of hot isostatically pressed finest-grain carbide material demonstrate their positive properties particularly when working on such hard jewellery materials as platinum, titanium, white gold and also jewellery steel. You will recognize these durable tools by their gold-coloured ring on the shank.

Beading Tools 2.0

Classical setting of high-quality jewellery stones

You will find out that the new BEADING TOOLS 2.0 make your work much easier. Please observe the perfectly shaped, polished calotte at the tip of the tool and the filigree circumferential edge. With this calotte the beads for a grain setting will be pressed into small brightly polished hemispheres, giving the bead- and the pavé setting their excellent and exact appearance.

Now we also offers the most current sizes of Beading Tools as sets. The set of the smaller sizes consists of BT 03 through 08, whilst the set with the larger sizes are BT 09 through 14. The length of the Beading Tool 2.0 can be adjusted by shortening at the predetermined breaking point.

The clearly legible laser marking shows the BT size and the BUSCH logo.

STARLIGHT Polishers

STARLIGHT polishers – enhance the lustre of platinum and gold

STARLIGHT carbide polishers give platinum and gold a precious lustre. For designers, goldsmiths and jewellers, these special polishers open up creative new design opportunities.

Four differently formed working parts make it possible to produce fascinating high-lustre effects on surfaces and edges, as well as on elevations and in recesses. Design concepts are transformed into perfect designs.

High rotational speeds are required in order to produce optimum results.

T-Speed cutters

The carbide cutter T426SPEED is an ideal tool for forming and cutting out the insides of rings, for instance after soldering chatons.

It can also be used to machine and trim sprues and lugs on cast workpieces. The excellent cut permits quick and straightforward working with a high rate of removal and smooth running; the smooth rounded tip of the working part without cut prevents undesirable contact between material and cutter. The tool life is additionally optimized by the TiN coating.

Ramroller

Easy correction of porosites and crack formations

During various work steps, and occasionally not until the final high-lustre polishing, it may happen that material defects such as porosities or cracks appear on the workpiece surface. Such flaws would have to be soldered over if it were not for the ramroller. On all ductile jewellery materials, for example also on the inner sides of small ring shanks, surface imperfections can be removed and made indiscernable with this rotating tool. Similarly, laser seams, such as they occur when two parts of jewelry are joined together, can be made completely invisible, even in the case of silver.

The smooth, rounded front end of the ramroller prevents from unintendedly contacting the material causing groove formation. A new addition to the series are the ramrollers with a smooth, flat front end for working up to the edges and into the angles even in areas which are difficult to reach.

The ramroller is available in two fineness grades (M and F) for more or less pronounced imperfections. For unique identification, all tools bear the our logo and the figure number.
